Please join the Caspers Park Preservation Foundation (CPPF) during the first Saturday of every month where we talk about different topics concerning nature and the park. This meeting is a pot luck and guest speakers are frequent. Learn how the CPPF supports Caspers and what value can come from volunteering with CPPF. Meetings are from 9:30am-11:00am.

Join our Park Rangers Sunday mornings for an easy 1 mile hike on the Nature Trail. Our topic this week will be Plant Adaptations. We will discuss how many plants survive in this desert climate. The trail takes the visitor through grassland, oak woodland, riparian and sandy cactus scrub communities. A wide variety of plant and animal life is found in these areas. Comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, sunscreen, water and insect repellent are recommended.

(FULL) Exploring San Juan Hotsprings & Cold Spring Canyon Hike

8:00am to 11:00am

Please join Caspers Park Naturalist Karin Klein on a moderately strenous 3 mile journey through history and nature as we explore the San Juan Hot Springs and Cold Spring Canyon. This hike will take you past the Hot Springs while learning its history and geologic significance, then it’s up Cold Spring Canyon where you’ll find a wide variety of flowering plants under this beautiful Coast Live Oak canopy. Weed Warriors

Please join us on the last Saturday of every month in the fight against non-native plants! Help Park Rangers and volunteers destroy non-native, invasive plants and learn why we must battle to keep the park pristine for our local habitat. Mustard, Italian Thistle, Russian Thistle, Tree Tobacco, Poision Hemlock, Pampas Grass, Castor Bean & Artichoke Thistle just to name a few. We're looking for a few good WARRIORS! Docent Led Equestrian Ride at Caspers

Join Volunteer Naturalist Julia Chrenow for a ride in a Mediterranean Climate. Discover some of the beauty of Caspers 8,000 acres of protected wilderness on this 3.8 mile out and back ride down Bell Canyon Trail. Enjoy a scenic ride under Coastal Live Oaks & California Sycamores while learning about plant and animal adaptations. Level of Interpretation is medium. Experienced riders only please.
