O'Neill Regional Park FAQs

Yes, showers are available to registered campers and are located in three restrooms spaced throughout the campground.

Camping fees are $20 per night (Senior and disabled discount available). Fee includes entry for one motorized vehicle and one legally towed non-motorized vehicle or trailer. A second motorized vehicle is allowed at $5 per night. Amenities include a waste station, community water spigots and restrooms with hot showers.There are no hook-ups. Each campsite can accommodate up to eight people and two tents. All sites have fire rings, elevated barbecue grills, a picnic table and gravel parking area. There are trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding and a playground suitable for ages 2 to 12. Guests may also visit our Nature Center open every weekend and weekdays by request.

The Holy Jim Waterfalls are located in the Cleveland National Forest. You will need to possess or obtain an USDA Forest Service Adventure Pass, to access the Forest. Directions: Take Trabuco Canyon Creek dirt road off Trabuco Canyon Road for about 5 miles; you will see the trailhead on your left handside. High clearance vehicle recommended.

Fishing is not permitted at O'Neill Park, however fishing is available at Irvine Lake and seasonally on Trabuco Creek in the Cleveland National Forest.

Dogs are allowed in the park. They need to be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet and be controlled by a competent person at all times. Dogs must be in a tent or enclosed vehicle at night. They are not allowed in the Arroyo Trabuco, Vedanta and Tijeras Wilderness Areas.

From 5 Fwy - exit at El Toro Road, head north towards mountains (Lake Forest), make right on Live Oak Canyon Road (Cooks Corner) and we are on the right hand side 3 miles up the road. From North OC - Take the 55 fwy, get off Chapman Ave, head south towards mountains and continue on Chapman it will turn into Santiago Canyon Road. Stay on Santiago Canyon Road for about 12 miles, make a left on Live Oak Canyon Road (Cooks Corner), we are on the right hand side 3 miles up the road.
