OC Public Works will be installing a guardrail along Newport Blvd. from Crawford Canyon Park driveway entrance to the Crawford Canyon Road intersection. Lane closures are expected during construction.
WHAT:
- Construction activity along the north side of Newport Blvd. will include installing guardrails, rebuilding curb, and gutter, asphalt reconstruction, traffic control, relocating a park light and restoring landscaping.
- Area motorists and other road users may experience delays when traveling through the project area during working hours.
- Park amenities will not be disturbed during construction.
Temporary Lane Closures Needed:
The work also involves traffic control requiring a lane closure and bike lane closure on Newport Blvd.
- Traffic control measures, such as construction signage and flag personnel will be present for everyone’s safety. Drivers should expect delays.
- Please observe all safety signs, barriers and personnel when near the project area.
- In case of emergency, work will be halted and roadway access will be opened for emergency responders.

Working Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The construction schedule is tentative and subject to change due to weather and other factors.
