Join OC Parks volunteers for a guided nature hike through Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, one of southern California’s most important coastal wetlands and a haven for wildlife. This scenic walk will take participants along easy-to-moderate trails with opportunities to observe native plants, birds, and panoramic views while learning about the area’s unique ecology and history.
This hike is approximately 3 miles with about 150 feet of elevation gain. Please note the trails are not suitable for strollers.
Bring water, snacks and sun protection as needed. The program is designed for all ages and encourages curiosity, environmental awareness and appreciation for the outdoors.
The program and parking are free.
Walk-ups are welcome, but advance registration is recommended. Learn more and register here for Discover the Back Bay.
