OC Parks Celebrates with Holiday Events

OC Parks invites families to join us for a festive calendar of events starting the day after Thanksgiving through January. From guided hikes under the stars to meet-and-greets with Santa Claus, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the holiday season in the outdoors.

Regional, wilderness and beach parks will be open regular operating hours throughout the holidays. Park offices and the OC Zoo will be closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Nov. 29

  • Thanksgiving Wobble Walk

Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Laguna Beach

Parking is $3 per vehicle. Registration is recommended at

Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, Newport Beach

Irvine Regional Park, Orange

Parking is $3 weekdays, $5 weekends. Christmas Train tickets are sold out.

  • Wilderness Access Day: Limestone Canyon

Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve, Silverado

Dec. 13-15

Heritage Hill Historical Park, Lake Forest

Admission is $5 per person ages 3 and over (under the age of 3 is free). Watch this video for more.

OC Zoo, Irvine

Activities are free with paid zoo admission ($2 per person, ages 2 & under free). Please note zoo coupons/free passes are not valid for this event. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

Dec. 20-21 and Dec. 27-28

Heritage Hill Historical Park, Lake Forest
Enjoy the seasonal light displays at the park during four after-hours evenings. Event and parking are free. Inclement weather may cancel event.
