What is the maximum number of days I can stay?

You can stay a maximum of 15 nights per month, which is combined between Caspers Wilderness Park and O'Neill Regional Park. Once this limit has been reached, the campground must be vacated, and no one in the party may return to camp at either park for five days.


Are there showers?

Yes, the showers are located in three restrooms, which are spaced across the campground. Showers are also available in the Eagle Grove Day Use Area: Eagle Grove RR #2. Eagle Grove Restrooms open for use at 7a.m. and close at sunset.


What are the fees and amenities?

Camping fees are $27 for the first night (which includes a $12 processing fee) and $15 for each additional night (Senior and disabled discount available). Fees include entry for one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle or trailer. A second vehicle is $5 a night. We do not have hookups; we have a dump station, community water spigots and restrooms with hot showers. Each campsite can hold eight people and two to three tents. All sites have fire rings with grills, elevated grills, picnic table and a gravel parking area. There are trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.


Where are the Holy Jim Waterfalls?

The Holy Jim Waterfalls are located in the Cleveland National Forest; you will need to posess or obtain an USDA Forest Service Adventure Pass, to access the Forest. Directions: Take Trabuco Canyon Creek dirt road off Trabuco Canyon Road for about 5 miles; you will see the trailhead on your left handside. High clearance vehicle recommended.


Is there fishing?

Fishing is not permitted at O'Neill Park, however fishing is available at Irvine Lake and seasonally on Trabuco Creek in the Cleveland National Forest.


Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are allowed in the park. They need to be kept on a leashes no longer than 6 feet and be controlled by a competent person at all times. Dogs must be in a tent or enclosed vehicle at night. They are not allowed in the West Area, Arroyo Trabuco, Vedanta and Tijeras Wilderness Areas.


Do you offer interpretive programs?

Ranger-led activities are available. For further information, contact the Ranger Station.


How do I get there?

From 5 Fwy - exit at El Toro Road, head north towards mountains (Lake Forest), make right on Live Oak Canyon Road (Cooks Corner) and we are on the right hand side 3 miles up the road. From North OC - Take the 55 fwy, get off Chapman Ave, head south towards mountains and continue on Chapman it will turn into Santiago Canyon Road. Stay on Santiago Canyon Road for about 12 miles, make a left on Live Oak Canyon Road (Cooks Corner), we are on the right hand side 3 miles up the road.
