Heritage Hill Historical Park will celebrate the colorful history of the Saddleback Valley with music, entertainment and crafts for the whole family at Rancho Days Fiesta.
Rancho Days Fiesta will take place Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Heritage hill Historical Park. The park is located at 25151 Serrano Rd. in Lake Forest.
Children’s activities
Children’s activities include piñata-popping, roping tricks, making arrowheads to take home, and other crafts projects. Help churn and taste homemade ice cream and butter. Dip candles and grind corn while learning about the early days of Orange County.
Music, dance and dancing horses
Come to the Wagon Wheel Corral for an amazing performance of Felipe Orozco’s dancing horses. Gather at the Pepper Tree Stage for an Acjachemen invocation ceremony.
Other demonstrations and performances will include traditional Native American music, Ballet Folklorico de San Juan Capistrano and Native American hoop dancer Terry Goedel. Listen to lively mariachi music, and the songs of Old California and early Mexico.
History unfolds
Docents dressed in period clothing will offer tours of the park's historical buildings throughout the day. Weavers and blacksmiths will demonstrate their trades and intricate handmade quilts will be displayed throughout the buildings.
Visitors will be able to discover the original inhabitants of California with exhibits by local wildlife organizations. Even early Californian "Maria Grijalva Yorba," will be there to meet.
Admission is $3 for children 3 to 12 years old and $4 for adults. Lunch, for a small fee, will be provided by Hunter's Steakhouse, Boy Scouts of America, and Kettle Masters.
For information, call the park at (949) 923-2230.
