The annual fiesta at Heritage Hill Historical Park will feature period artisans, crafts and entertainment.

Rancho Days Fiesta at Heritage Hill Historical Park on May 17 will celebrate the colorful history of the Saddleback Valley with music, entertainment and crafts for the whole family.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Forest park.
Children’s activities include piñatas and free crafts projects. Visitors can help churn and taste homemade ice cream and butter, dip candles, grind corn and sample warm bread from the horno oven. Early Californians “Gov. Juan B. Alvarado” and “Maria Grijalva Yorba” will also be in attendance.
The Pepper Tree Stage will feature a demonstration and performance of traditional Native American instruments, Ballet Folklorico de San Juan Capistrano and Native American hoop dancer Terry Goedel. Other music planned includes a mariachi band and the songs of early California and Mexico.
Docents in period clothing will direct visitors to the park’s historic buildings and Native American Village. Artisans will demonstrate weaving, branding, blacksmithing and other trades throughout the day.
Admission is $3 for children 3 to 12 years old and $4 for adults. Heritage Hill Historical Park is located at 25151 Serrano Rd. in Lake Forest. For information, call the park at (949) 923-2230.
