 | | Sunset Beach Restroom | Proposed Restrooms at Sunset Beach and Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park
by Marlene Brajdic, Administrative Manager I on 5/30/2007
Visitors’ comfort and service are in mind with proposed restrooms at Sunset Beach and Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park.
Five new restroom buildings will be constructed at Sunset Beach in the location of existing restrooms that are to be replaced. The new facilities will be constructed of sand colored concrete block walls. The planned metal barrel roof is a curved design that suggests the organic shape of sand dunes. Each 228 sq. ft. restroom building will contain 4 lavatories, an outside sink, drinking fountain and an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt water and beach sand.
The Sunset Beach restrooms are anticipated to be constructed by the end of the first quarter of 2008.
 | | Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park Restroom | Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park will get a permanent restroom that is proposed for completion by Fall 2008. The facility at Wieder Park will be a 144 sq. ft. concrete block building in a light sand color. Rock and stone details on the block wall will imitate the natural rock outcroppings that occur on the site. The metal shed roof has been designed to match the existing park kiosk’s roof.
