by Angela Burrell, PR/Marketing Coordinator on 9/7/2004
Parents and editors have recognized Irvine Regional Park as a favorite outdoor place in Parenting Magazine’s Sept. 04 Best Of Orange County issue.
And for good reason. There's lots to see and do at the state's oldest regional recreation area. The following is a list of attractions that you can call directly for operating hours and information:
•Country Trails Horse Rentals: (714) 538-5860
•Irvine Park Railroad: (714) 997-3968
•Paddle boat, bike and party pavilion rentals: (714) 997-3968
•Peacock Hill Boarding Stables: (714) 997-7720
•Pony Rides: Open 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tues. through Sun. (schedule subject to change due to rain or high winds).
(760) 956-8441.
•Caterers, clowns, moonbounces, dunk tanks, etc. require a special permit. Please call (714) 834-5707 to obtain a permit. It is necessary to notify the park at 973-6835, and press “0”, before engaging the services of any vendor.
•Visit the Irvine Park Nature Center. Call (714) 973-6835 for hours.
Or visit the Orange County Zoo -- home to animals native to Southwestern U.S. Call (714) 973-6847.
In addition to several popular attractions, Irvine Park has shaded picnic areas with tables and barbecues throughout. Four large group picnic areas are available for reservation. The park has softball diamonds, horseshoe pits, one sand volleyball court and portable volleyball poles for games on the grass, playgrounds and a Nature Center. Biking, hiking and equestrian trails meander throughout.
See you on your next visit!
